It’s time for this week’s Hometown Hero, brought to you by Keller Chevrolet and Batavia Downs Gaming. This week’s Hometown Hero is originally from Boston, N.Y. It’s Marine Corps Sergeant TJ Forness.

TJ joined the delayed entry program in October 2008, and in August 2009 he left for boot camp. He did a tour to Germany on a training mission for a special operations command for the Republic of Georgia Army in 2011 and Afghanistan in 2012 during Operation Enduring Freedom. He is currently the Ammunition and Ordnance Chief for Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, Ga. Through his career, he has received six medals, a ribbon and eight other personal awards for serving not only his country but his community.

We are proud to call him this week’s Hometown Hero! Thanks so much to Sgt. Forness for doing what he does and making us all so proud.

If you would like to nominate someone who is currently serving our country or has served in the past, click the button at WYRK.com. We will choose a new Hometown Hero each Friday. If their name is chosen, we will not only feature them on WYRK.com, but we’ll be sure to thank them for their service on the air and dedicate the first song on Noon Tunes to them.

Once again, thank you to Marine Corps Sgt. TJ Forness,  Our Hometown Hero of the week!
