Western New York continues to be shut down due to the lake effect snow pelting the Buffalo area. The winter storm has dumped over five feet of snow in the area and more is on the way!Since Tuesday morning more than 130 miles of I-90 have been closed. Roads remain closed and over 100 cars have been reportedly trapped and abandoned on the roadways.

The New York Department of Transportation reportedly has 410 snowplows in Western New York for the storm.

The DOT brought in 160 plows, 350 staff members, eight blowers and 15 highlights to help in the cleanup, ABC News reports.

A second bout of snow is predicted for Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday morning, according to the Democrat & Chronicle.

Erie County has reported five deaths over the course of the storm. Four deaths were reported on Tuesday with three of the deaths resulted from cardiac issues and one from a car crash. A man in his 40s was found deceased in his car, NBC News reports.

Lancaster, New York, has recorded five feet of snow while nearby the Buffalo airport reported less than four inches.

The National Weather Service says a year's worth of snow is expected in just a few days over the hardest hit areas.

WKBW reports the roof of a warehouse on Union Road in Cheektowaga collapsed and the entire building could give way.
