NHL sources say the NHL Board of Governors has approved the sale of the Buffalo Sabres to Terry Pegula. That word coming just hours before the Sabres game Friday night against the St. Louis Blues. The only thing left to do now is to sign the papers making the ownership swap official and that's expected to happen this Tuesday

It was interesting to at least hear the owner of a Buffalo sports team sound like he was committed to bringing a major championship to the city. Terry Pagula is expected to take over control of the Buffalo Sabres on February 22nd. That's the day the NHL Board of Governors is expected to give its approval of the sale of the team to Pagula. If he has any intent of directing that some trades be made this season, he'll have less than a week to do it before the NHL trade deadline on February 28th.

Clay and I often talk about our passions and one thing I sometimes drive him nuts about is my passion for wanting the Bills or Sabres to win a championship. How does it change my life? It really doesn't, but it's the ultimate for any fan that's been following a team all their life to see that team win a Super Bowl or a Stanley Cup or the World Series or whatever. The key is to have the people in place that share that passion and the Sabres just may have that guy coming around the bend. Looks like the sale of the Buffalo Sabres to billionaire Terry Pagula will come next week. According to a report on WGRZ-TV Channel 2, an agreement to sell the team has been reached between Pagula and Tom Golisano, but it won't be announced until after the completion of the World Junior Hockey Championships taking place this week in Buffalo.

I was reading the story in the Buffalo News written by Bucky Gleason about Terry Pagula - a self made billionaire who wants to buy the Buffalo Sabres. Pagula loves football and hockey, but his passion is the Sabres.
