We have had 50 states for over 50 years. What if we went to 51 states? Think about it. Every current U.S. flag would become obsolete and have to be replaced. I wonder how much that would cost? A politician in California has proposed taking 13 counties in the state and forming a new state called "South California".

Could 'Superstorm' Hit California?

A group of over 100 scientist have compiled a report that states California is at risk of being hit with a massive 'superstorm' of the likes the state has never seen. The report goes on to say that a quarter of the homes in the state are at risk of being flooded and could cause up to 400 billion dollars in damage.
