Strong National Museum of Play

About an hour down the thruway in Rochester, The Strong Museum is a must-go for families who love to have fun. The museum is filled with interactive toys, games, and displays that your kids will go nuts for. You, on the other hand, will geek out over their massive video game collection and archive of vintage toys from your childhood. Plus, you can check out the latest inductees of The National Toy Hall Of Fame - American Girl dolls, anyone?

The National Baseball Hall Of Fame

If your kids are a little older and don’t mind a longer car ride, the National Baseball Hall Of Fame about three and a half hours away is perfect for a family of sports freaks. A fun weekend to go would be the weekend of the 2022 Induction Ceremony for David Ortiz in July, but be forewarned that it will definitely be the most crowded that Cooperstown gets all year.

More of an outdoorsy family? Lake George is a perfect place to take the kids who don’t mind getting a little dirty. With tons of places to hike, bike, kayak, and swim, Lake George is a popular summer stop here in New York. Be sure to make time to hop on their legendary Minne Ha Ha steamboat to enjoy the warm summer breeze and gorgeous lake views.
