Popular Restaurant Closing At The Boulevard
Residents of Buffalo’s north towns know that you can find almost anything you need shopping-wise at the Boulevard.
Over 50 shops and restaurants call the popular plaza home, from massive national retailers like Target and Best Buy, to local businesses like the BFLO store. The Boulevard is even home to Buffalo’s only Trader Joe’s location.
Although most of the businesses at the Boulevard were closed on Christmas Day, one place was guaranteed to be open for hungry families looking to grab some grub to celebrate the holiday. However, we just learned that this particular restaurant won’t be open for much longer.

National Restaurant Chain Closing Their Amherst Location
You can still be “eatin’ good in the neighborhood” in Western New York, but unfortunately, not in Amherst.
Buffalo Business First reports that Applebee’s Grill & Bar will be shutting the doors of their Boulevard location (1641 Niagara Falls Blvd.) this February. Benderson Development, who owns and operates the Boulevard, stated that the popular restaurant’s lease had expired, and that a new tenant would be moving into the soon-to-be empty space sometime next year.
Fans of Applebee’s two for one meal deals, endless fries and refills, and $1 cocktails can still get their fix at the chain’s locations in Batavia, Blasdell, Cheektowaga, Dunkirk, Lakewood , Lockport, Niagara Falls, North Buffalo and West Seneca, but if you’re looking for a shameless boneless wings fix in Amherst, you’ll soon be out of luck.
The question is, what will be opening up in its place?
Benderson says they’ll announce which new tenant will be taking Applebee’s place in early 2025 (but we wouldn’t hate to see one of Buffalo’s popular breweries open up there so we could sip on a pint after we shop…just sayin’.).
