If you’re going to serve wings in Buffalo, New York - the chicken wing capital of the world - they’d better be good. Between iconic spots like Bar-Bill and Duff’s, along with the small Mom & Pop restaurants with delicious wings on the menu, there’s a lot of competition here in Western New York.

Now, a national chain known for its chicken wings is getting in on the action and opening up shop here in the Buffalo area.

Atomic Wings Opening In Niagara Falls

Atomic Wings has locations all over the country, and has been featured on late-night talk shows like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live! Soon, Western New Yorkers will be able to see for themselves how Atomic Wings holds up to our own iconic wing spots when they open up a location on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Niagara Falls.

Based primarily in New York City, the Atomic Wings menu features wings “Buffalo” style (aka bone-in) or boneless. They have several available sauces listed ranging from mild to hot, such as Nuclear, Mango Habanero, Thai Chili, Jerk BBQ, and Lemon Pepper. They also boast side-kick staples like waffle fries and mozzarella sticks, as well as a few different chicken sandwich options.

Atomic Wings Reviews Are Mixed

Although the Western New York Atomic Wings location isn’t set to open until September 17th, you can still look on Yelp at the reviews of their other nationwide locations.

The customer reviews vary. One Yelper wrote that their wings were “old and dry,” with another review adding the “food is not good at all.” However, other reviews claimed that the wings at Atomic Wings “are really tasty and spicy” and “the honey BBQ and the Thai chili sauces are both amazing.”

Listen, we’ve got high chicken wing standards here in Buffalo - that’s for sure. But let’s not judge a restaurant on its wings until we actually get to sit down (or have it delivered) and try it - and we can’t do that until September 17th.
