Awesome Story: Little Girl Raises Thousands for Her Family

Meet Alyssa.

A fire not only destroyed her family's home home two years ago, but the family says a builder never completed the work, leaving them to pick up the pieces. Alyssa was heartbroken seeing her parents suffer.

She took it upon herself to do something to help mommy and daddy, I don't think she expected it to be anything like this either", Alyssa's mother, Jenn said.

Her lemonade stand she set up with her brother Damien, also featuring home baked goods, brought people from as far away as Hernando County. One person gave $500 and another giving $1000 for a cup of lemonade. Not only did even strangers give, the first responders to the fire showed up in support. Deputies reached out to businesses, and countless came through. “They really shined on this one. We are proud that we are able to bridge that gap and to help the family with some of the stuff they had in need,” Deputy Mark Montano said. "We are so amazed, we knew we had a good community, but when you see everyone here it is overwhelming, incredible," Jenn De La Sala said.
