Best Buy to Close More Stores in New York State

10 to 15 more stores are set to go.

Best Buy shut down 24 stores within the last year and they are set to do 10 to 15 more across the United States before 2025 is over.

It is no shock that big box stores have been closing more and more all over the country. JC Penny, Bed Bath & Beyond and BuyBuy Baby all shuttered almost all of their stores within the past few years.

As our ongoing practice, we will continue to close existing traditional stores during our rigorous review of stores as their leases come up for renewal. In fiscal '24, we closed 24 stores,” (Chief Financial Officer) Bilunas said. “And in fiscal '25, we expect to close 10 to 15 stores.”

Best Buy is making the move to improve the customer experience. Instead of keeping larger stores open, the company is trying out flagship options to see if customers will gravitate towards those stores", according to USAtoday.com.
