Looking for a unique spot to take a date?  Have you ever been to the Blueberry Treehouse in West Falls?

We've heard a ton of good stuff about the Blueberry Treehouse Cafe (1897 Davis Rd, West Falls, NY 14170) and wanted to check it out for ourselves.  So we did.

What is the Blueberry Treehouse?

The Blueberry Treehouse Cafe is exactly what it sounds like.  It's a treehouse that is built on a blueberry farm where you can pick some blueberries (when they're in season) and then stop over to the treehouse and have some lunch or dinner.

It is very unique.  As you walk up the hill to the cafe, you will notice that the treehouse is actually built on trees that have been on the property for years.  Their website says that it's owned by Jyl and Rico Rivera.  The farm has been growing blueberries in that spot for over 35 years and in the last couple have decided to open it up to the community as a cafe in the last couple.

Their goal is to change the image of a farm to become a cool place to visit often, connect with nature, and benefit the entire community.

What kind of food do they have at the Blueberry Treehouse Cafe?

It's a light menu but it's delicious.  You'll find things like paninis and pizzas and charcuterie boards.  It's not terribly extensive but everyone who ordered something last night loved it.  You can find the menu here. If you're looking for a night with more than that, they have a calendar of dates where food trucks will be available too.

They do not take reservations.  It's something that we were a little worried about when going there because we had 7 people in our party.  We've heard it can get kind of busy and hard to find a table.  But we walked right in and had no trouble at all.  But be prepared, if you come on a busier night, it might be a little more difficult to find a seat.

They do have pop and water to drink, but also have a full beer and wine list too!

Does it cost anything to get in?

There actually is an admission fee to get in just to check it out.  That took me a little by surprise when I explained to the girl at the gate that we were just there for dinner.  The good news is that your admission fee is good for a free popsicle, a free non-alcoholic beverage, or $5 off an alcoholic beverage.  So it's almost like you get that money back and it cuts down on people not supporting the business.

It's an experience.  That's what you're paying for.

  • $7 per person

  • 2 and under are FREE

  • Seniors over 65 are FREE

  • No Admission Cost after 10pm

When can I check out the Blueberry Treehouse Cafe?

In July and August, the hours are:

Wed - 10-10pm
Thurs - 10-3 & 5-10 (shut down 2 hrs to get ready for Blueberry Jams)
Fri - 10-11pm
Sat - 10-11pm
Sun - 10-8pm

What are Blueberry Jams?

They've got a really cool pavillion on the property for live music.  They call it Blueberry Jams.  The hours are a little different on those days (Thursdays) and the cost is a little different to help pay for the music.

  • THURSDAY BLUEBERRY JAMS 5-10pm:

    • $10 per adult

    • $5 for children age 12-2

    • Children 2 and under are free

Do they actually have blueberries at the Blueberry Treehouse?

They do.  There was a stand where you could pay to pick your own!

Would you go back?

I would.  It was a pretty cool experience.  The atmosphere was amazing.  It's definitely Instagram-worthy. The food was good.  The drinks were cold.  My family had a good time.  There is a playground for the kids to climb on and of course, they can pick blueberries.  And it's pretty cool to eat in an actual treehouse in the woods.

The only thing I wish was that the menu was a little more extensive but that's just me being picky.  There's not a lot of room for them to cook in a treehouse.  What they did do was very good.
