The Buffalo Bills season is over, after losing to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday in the AFC Divisional round.

The Bills were dominated by the Bengals and while for some fans it was shock, for others it was the dam breaking open after seeing the cracks develop over the last two months.

The Bills were bad on offense and defense in that game and did not play their best against the Miami Dolphins either in the Wild Card round, despite winning that game.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane held his annual season-ending press conference at One Bills Drive and addressed the media about the 2022 season and what's to be done heading into the 2023 season.

Beane typically gives the media more insight than head coach Sean McDermott. He's candid and open to expanding on questions, although he kept things pretty close to the vest on Tuesday afternoon.

One notable thing that Beane said was in reference to upgrading the roster, particularly wide receiver and offensive line, which is a question he was asked early on.

Beane said they will look at wide receiver in the first round.

However, Beane said there will be no Von Miller type signing this off-season and that said "we're going to have to work to get under the salary cap."

There was no indication that they will for sure keep offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey and defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, but Beane said that they were not the same offense in the second half of the season. Beane added "they did not play a complete game this year," only stretches of games.

Beane brought up the Cincinnati Bengals a few times and said that the Bengals are the beneficiary of having their star quarterback on a rookie contract, and that they had some lean years before getting Ja'Marr Chase.

"I don't wanna suck bad enough to get Ja'Marr Chase."

Beane also indicated that using the franchise tag on Tremaine Edmunds would be tough, since 3-4 edge rushers are lumped into the franchise tag price for off-ball linebackers, which Edmunds is. He said they would love Edmunds and safety Jordan Poyer back.

Beane also admitted there will be guys who aren't back. That's the nature of the business.

There are now no more press conferences for the Bills. The next thing to look forward to is the Senior Bowl in early February and the NFL Scouting Combine at the end of February.

Free agency begins in March and the NFL Draft is the last weekend in April.
