This past winter was brutal. Technically, Western New York did not get hit with too much snow after the new year, but the two historic snowstorms that pummeled Buffalo and the suburbs in November and the week of Christmas were more than any area should ever go through.

The Christmas week blizzard in particular was both physically and emotionally draining for the Buffalo community. Hopefully, that doesn't ever happen again.

The good news is that we are now into April and those bitterly cold temperatures and snow look to be a thing of the past, at least until we get into next fall.

After a cooler weekend, where temperatures will struggle to get out of the 40's, next week is shaping up to be flat-out incredible.

Mike Cejka of WIVB says that 60's will be the story for the first half of the work week, while multiple 70-degree days are in store for Buffalo and Western New York towards the end of next week.

The Weather Channel's forecast for Buffalo is predicting three straight 70+ degree high days. Next Thursday through next Saturday, April 13th to the 15th.

Sunday, the 16th looks to have a high near 70 as well, which could mean we see four consecutive 70-degree days for thee Buffalo area.

By then, we're in the third week of April and we're off to the races for warmer temperatures. Sure, there's a chance we could see snow in April but even if it does, it won't be significant in nature.

After the next several days, Buffalo is home free for good weather.
