The Bills Dominate The Rams In Blowout Win
The anxiety was sky-high for Buffalo Bills fans on Thursday, heading into tonight’s NFL Kickoff game against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium.
Many considered the game to be a pick-em and many NBC analysts picked the defending Super Bowl champions to win on Thursday night.
The Bills ended up dominating the Rams, winning 31-10. The win was so one-sided by the second half that Rams fans were seen leaving early in the 4th quarter.
The 21-point win could’ve easily been more. The Bills turned the ball over four times and three of them were mental mistakes — two fumbles (one by James Cook and Zack Moss) and a dropped pass by Isaiah McKenzie…and still won by three scores. The Bills could’ve had 45 points without those turnovers.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen completed 26 of 32 passes for nearly 300 yards and three touchdowns, with another TD rushing.
Devin Singletary ran hard and looked fantastic, while Stefon Diggs caught eight passes for over 120 yards and a touchdown.
The biggest story other than Allen was the play of the Bills newly made defensive line.
The Bills sacked Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford seven times and pressured him over a dozen drop backs.
Other than one drive that ended in a Cooper Kupp touchdown, the Bills defense played flawlessly against the Rams offense.
Former Rams edge rusher Von Miller had two sacks in his Bills debut and defensive tackle Jordan Phillips had two sacks as well.
It’s hard to believe but if the Bills defense plays as well as they did tonight, all season, they will exceed the high expectations they garnered before the season.
Buffalo next plays the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football at Highmark Stadium for their week 2 game. It will be played on September 19th.
