Immediate Discontinuation of this Citi Credit Card in New York State

You rarely hear about a major credit card canceling certain credit cards, but Citi credit cards has announced that they are shutting this one specific card down.

Citi has announced that they will be shutting down all the Sunoco Credit Cards abruptly at the end of this month.

We are writing to inform you that your Sunoco Rewards Credit Card account will be closed on October 31, 2026, as the Citibank, N.A. credit card", they wrote to credit card holders.

If you have that card, Citi says YES you will still have to pay them the balance of your credit, even if you are making payments Citi will still be servicing the account until they are paid off and then they are going to be closed. It is unclear why this is happening or why it is happening so fast, but it seems like they could not come to agreement on a new partnership together.
