Dawson Knox’s Soundbite on Thanksgiving Should Get More Attention
The Buffalo Bills are 8-3 and tied for the AFC East lead after their Thanksgiving Day win over the Detroit Lions this past Thursday.
The Bills were 9-point favorites and some Bills fans had this pegged for an easy game, but Detroit gave Buffalo all they could handle, which was aided by the countless injuries the Bills have endured.
The game ended 28-25. Bills kicker Tyler Bass kicked the game-winning field goal with two seconds remaining. It happened because of an incredible 35-yard throw from Josh Allen to Stefon Diggs with less than 20 seconds remaining.
The Bills just released a video of tight end Dawson Knox's best soundbites from the Turkey Day game. He was the player who was mic'd up for Buffalo.
Knox encouraged his teammates all afternoon but one soundbite had the Bills replaying it over and over again.
After the Lions tied the game 25-25, with a 51-yard-field goal from kicker Michael Badgley, Knox went over to Bass and said "hey you're about to kick the game-winner."
I also love that when Bass made the game-winning field goal, he didn't hear Knox yelling "hey number two" to him over and over again, as Bass was celebrating with other teammates.
Bass missed an extra point on the Bills last touchdown to Stefon Diggs, but that actually helped the Bills win.
Why?
That's because it made it a three-point game and the Lions played content to tie the game on their final drive, rather than win the game. It sounds strange but the Bass missed extra point paved the way for the Bills to win the game with a field goal.
