Did You Know That Erie County Offers Free Skiing and Snowboarding
With snow and colder temperatures in the forecast for Western New York, a lot of people are thinking about heading out and hitting the slopes.
If you are interested in skiing or snowboarding you can do it for free in Erie County. There are three slopes that are open and free for anyone to use in the county.
You can ski or snowboard for free at Emery Park. There are three runs to choose from. Two beginner ones and one intermediate one. Emery Park is open Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 4-8 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11 am until 7 pm for skiing or snowboarding.
It is first come first serve and Emery Park has the "Magic Carpet Ride" a 920 foot long moving walkway that carries you up the hill.
You can also ski for free at Chestnut Ridge Park. The Ski Tow is operational Wednesday - Friday 4 PM-7 PM and 10 AM-7 PM on weekends and holidays.
