There are still a few days of summer left and here in New York State some hunters will have a chance to take a deer.

The fall will begin on September 22 and for most who love to hunt, the idea of being in the deer stand in the summer may seem a little strange. However, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation reminds those in certain areas that starting this weekend, they can take an "antlerless deer".

When does deer hunting season start in New York State? Where can you hunt in the early, antlerless season? The New York State DEC website is a great resource for all of the answers.
