He's been saying that he will be back in no time at all, but a torn bicep normally takes some time to heal. How quickly will the Bills' star defensive tackle be able to return to help bolster this defense?

How long does it take to heal from a torn bicep?

There is a lot to take into consideration when estimating how quickly a player can return from injury. How severe was the injury? How much work have they put into rehab? The age of the player is one factor among a bunch of others.

Oliver has been out for weeks

It has been a rough year for Ed Oliver. When he's on the field, he's been an absolute game-changer. The problem has been keeping him on the field. He started out the year by getting injured after their week 1 win over Baltimore with a foot injury. That kept him on the sidelines for a few weeks. Then he returned only to go out again with a torn bicep during the game against Carolina. That was on October 26th, which was week 8. We are coming up on week 14 this week. He has been out for about 6 weeks with the bicep.

Ed Oliver made an appearance at practice today

Oliver's family has been sharing videos of him and his recovery for the past couple of weeks and things seem to be coming along nicely for him. We've seen videos of him picking up his kids, amongst others that give a small window into his recovery.

Today, he was back in the building with the team. While he didn't practice at all (he's still on IR) he seemed to be showing off his arms. He was flexing and even giving defensive coordinator Bobby Babich a look at his repaired arm.

There is still no timeline for his return, but he appeared to be in good spirits and looked hungry to get back on the field. We would hope that he will be healthy enough to return around playoff time if the Bills make it, but there are no guarantees we will see him back on the field at all this year.
