Every year when the Erie County Fair comes to the Hamburg Fairgrounds, Western New York residents can see a glimmer of light that signals that autumn is in the distance. Once the fair ends, most people look forward to fall and everything that comes with it.

Technically, fall doesn't start for another five weeks, but we're already seeing folks start to talk about the autumn activities. The Great Pumpkin Farm will open in a few weeks and Frightworld is having open interviews for positions this season.

One of the underrated aspects of this region is the incredible fall foliage. In the southern tier, the fall foliage is nothing short of breathtaking and looks like something you would see in a Hollywood movie.

One of the best ways to enjoy the fall foliage is something that has become a tradition for Western New Yorkers.

The Arcade and Attica Railroad will be bringing back its Fall Foliage Train this October, which will take place the first four weekends of the month, including two Wednesdays (5th and 12th).

The train ride is popular with families and it takes you back in time, when trains where the main form of transportation and those views are awesome.

I love summertime and all the things that come with it in Buffalo. However, it's very hard to beat the month of October in Western New York. We are blessed with perfect fall weather and fall foliage and it's something many look forward to every year.
