Famous Buffalo, New York “Athlete” Calls It Quits – For Now
It is the end of the line, for now, for a famous "athlete" who has competed for years in Buffalo, New York.
Joey Chestnut announced that he is not going to compete in the Nathan's Fourth of July hot dog eating contest.
According to reports, Joey has signed on with a new company and won't compete in the hot dog contest but he is still a part of other competitions, and hopefully, will be part of the National Chicken Wing Festival in Buffalo at the end of summer.
Joey Chestnut has been a part of the chicken wing eating contest in Buffalo, New York for years. However, the hot dog champ is not always the top dog when it comes to downing the flats and drums inside Highmark Stadium.
Channel 4 in Buffalo ran this story after last year's competition. It was an Australian competitive eater that claimed the "Wing Eating Champion" title eating 276 wings to take the trophy!
