The prices of things are starting to come down, slightly. However, it is still very expensive to have a family and when you need to take time off work, the pinch of paying for things stings even more.
But New York State has been focused on making things more manageable for mom and families who are waiting for their newborn to arrive.

According to Governor Hochul and New York State, there is a new plan for expecting moms in the Empire State.
This is historic as New York State now leads the nation for this sort of initiative.
"NYS becomes the first state in the nation to provide expectant workers with paid time off for prenatal care! Starting January 1, 2025, the new NYS Paid Prenatal Leave will grant employees across the state up to 20 hours of paid leave for pregnancy-related healthcare".
But it doesn't stop when the baby is born. New York State is also making it easier to find childcare.
