You'll begin to see area fire fighters collecting cash throughout Western New York for the annual 'Fill the Boot' for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 22nd 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. members of the Lockport Fire Department, IAFF Local 963 along with volunteers from MDA will be out and about all over Lockport with boots in hand for the fire fighters' annual Fill the Boot fundraising campaign to help free kids and adults from the harm of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related life-threatening diseases.

Fire fighters in Western New York have been 'filling their Boots' for more than six decades. Funds raised through the 2018 Lockport Fill the Boot drive empower families with life-enhancing resources and support, including state-of-the-art support groups and Care Centers, including the MDA Care Centers at DENT Neurologic Institute and Buffalo General Medical Center. They also help give more than 60 local kids the opportunity to experience the best week of the year where anything is possible at MDA Summer Camp at no cost to their families at the Rotary Sunshine Campus this June. - MDA Maggie Thomas

If you see fire fighters on your morning commute tomorrow, please give what you can for the cause.
