May is Older Americans Month making it a perfect time for the elderly and their families to consider memory screenings as part of their good health and wellness routine.  It's a quick, simple and easy way to determine the healthy function of the brain.

Memory screenings are private, face to face sessions consisting of a series of questions and/or tasks to test memory, language skills, thinking ability and other intellectual functions.  The person who administers the screening will review the results with the person being screened and suggest whether a follow-up with a health care professional is recommended.

The screenings are free at the sites indicated.  You can find a memory screening site at the Alzheimer's Foundation of America website or by calling the Alzheimer's Foundation of America at 866-232-8484.
