Gas Prices About To Soar Again In New York State
Love to drive but hate the gas prices? It is not going to get any better any time soon here in New York State. The prices change more than the weather it seems these days.
Just when we were all enjoying a bit of a reprieve from the extreme prices, there is word this week that the prices are about to surge again around The Empire State! The reason? OPEC is making a few changes to their production.
This is not good news headed to the fall mid-term elections. I have said for years that people essentially vote with their pocketbook and wallet. No matter which side of the aisle you fall on, the gas prices and inflation hit hard. Here in New York, we will be seeing a switch to more efficient E vehicles. But that won't be for a few years. The majority of drivers have gas powered vehicles and with the Holiday travel season looming, going over the river and through the woods to grandmas house will get pricey!
The last time I filled my truck, I paid $3.45 a gallon at Walmart in Springville, New York. That is actually a deal these days. However, I remember paying UNDER $1 a gallon at the beginning of the pandemic on the Reservation.
