American flags will fly at half staff on Tuesday to honor the victims and pay tribute to those who are still dealing with the lasting impacts of Hamas' attack on Isreal in 2023. As the world is hoping for some sort of peace deal to be announced soon, New York State announced it's solidarity with the people of Isreal.

According to a post from USA.gov, there are some guidelines and regulations that are tied to flying the American flag in an official capacity. "The American flag flies at half-staff or at half-mast when the country or a state is in mourning. The president, a state governor, or the mayor of the District of Columbia can order flags to fly at half-staff".

Nearly 1200 people were killed in the attack on October 7th and peaces talks continue to happen as the United States tries to bridge the gap to peace.

Do you fly an American flag at home? It seemed that after the terror attacks on September 11th, there were flags flying on every house and in every yard in every neighborhood. According to a report filed on Flag Day, around 150 million American flags are sold every year!

If you are considering displaying a flag at your home, keep in mind that it also needs to be lit up at night as well. "...the Flag Code stipulates the flag should be properly illuminated at night if displayed 24 hours a day".
