Is This The Most Underrated Food In All of Buffalo?
If you were born and raised in Buffalo, chances are you know which foods are the best in Western New York. Not just wings, beef on weck, or pizza, but where to get these famous Buffalo foods and yes, pizza isn't exclusive to Buffalo, but Buffalo-style pizza certainly is.
I was having a conversation with a friend this past weekend regarding what is a pretty famous dive bar in Buffalo, but the talk was whether or not they had one of the best food items in all of Buffalo?
The dive bar is the Old Pink located on Allen St. in Buffalo and the food item in question is the steak sandwich.
The steak sandwich is legendary for those who live in the neighborhood of the Old Pink, but it may be getting more well-known as time goes by.
The sandwich is exactly what it sounds like. A steak loin cooked to your liking on a hoagie bread roll with cheese and onions and peppers.
It's not just the Old Pink either, as Mother's Restaurant also serves up a great steak sandwich.
I don't think this food item is very popular in many other parts of the country, but it's certainly something most people would love. I mean, a steak slabbed into a sub roll? Obviously, that just sounds awesome.
Having a steak sandwich at the Old Pink is a rite of passage for Buffalonians and my friend said as much this past weekend, as he has been there quite a few times.
Now I'm hungry.
