A mother in New York State brutally ran over a teen boy twice, then traded in her SUV in a bizarre case of revenge. The 35-year-old mom is now facing an attempted murder charge after the disturbing incident. According to the Suffolk County District Attorney, the woman hit the teen once with her SUV, then backed up and hit him again. The D.A., Ray Tierney, says Jennifer Nelson, hit the teen in the parking lot across from William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach, NY, in October 2022. D.A. Tierny said that Nelson tried to trade in the lease on her vehicle the same evening of the incident to try to conceal evidence of the alleged crime.

Officials said the incident was allegedly a case of revenge. Nelson allegedly thought that the teen tried to rob her son earlier during the day of the incident. An investigation determined that the victim did not participate in any robbery.

D.A. Tierney said,

She decided to take the law into her own hands in really outrageous fashion.

The vehicle attack on the teen caused serious injury. He sustained six broken ribs, a fractured pelvis, and a punctured lung, according to News 12.

Authorities also say that Nelson threatened a group of teenagers with a knife and a small bat. She was initially only facing charges of reckless endangerment and assault. Nelson was released on Monday, February 6, 2023, without bail. She could spend up to 25 years in prison if she is convicted of attempted murder.
