Many people all over the area have been wondering if we would see a white Christmas holiday this year and based on some recent weather models from the Buffalo Office of the National Weather Service, that is all but a guarantee to happen. In fact, officials from the NWS have said very plainly that this upcoming storm IS a big deal.

We could see anywhere from 1 to 3 feet in a very short period of time, with extremely high wind gusts and some brutally cold temperatures.

This forecast is so bad that some local schools have already announced they are closing buildings to help keep children, staff, and faculty safe.

The school my son attends, Nichols School, made the decision to cancel classes starting this Thursday and I'm sure other schools will follow soon. Districts like the Buffalo Public Schools have issued an alert asking parents to make sure their contact information is up to date in case they need to reach them.
