The company plans on closing down 500 stations by the end of this year and another 500 by the end of 2025.

Most Shell stations located in New York are downstate but many stations located in Canada are along the US/Canadian border. This could mean that you could have fewer options when you make the road trip over the border.

The company is hoping to reduce it emissions to net zero by 2050 and with more electric vehicles on the market, shutting down gas stations will help them towards their goal.
