Josh Allen Says Blue Cheese in Buffalo is Different [LISTEN]
There's only three more weeks of not having football in our lives.
The Buffalo Bills return to the practice field at St. John Fisher University on July 26th, which will mark the seventh season in Buffalo for head coach Sean McDermott.
It's also going to be Josh Allen's sixth year in the NFL.
Allen has worked his way to one of the three best quarterbacks in the NFL and he's become the most popular person in Buffalo over that time period. He's a star on the field and off the field.
Part of Allen's draw off the field is his charming personality and his full-embrace of Buffalo culture; which includes the iconic food that makes this region what it is.
Wings, beef on weck, pizza, Labatt Blue, pizza logs, loganberry, and blue cheese.
It's an unwritten rule in Buffalo that you only dip your wings in blue cheese. Ranch dressing is a "no-no" for many restaurants who serve up great wings...even though ranch is the dressing of choice in most other parts of the country.
Allen recently appeared as a guest on the Bussin' with the Boys podcast and BWTB host Will Compton asked Allen is it was blue cheese or ranch with wings? Compton added that he thinks "blue cheese is trash," and Allen wasn't having any of it.
"No it's not," said Allen. "Blue cheese is him in Buffalo; it's different in Buffalo."
Blue cheese is pretty bad in other areas of the country, which is something you learn as a Buffalonian traveling to other cities. Blue cheese in Buffalo is creamy, tasty and the perfect consistency. It's far superior to ranch when done properly; whereas ranch overpowers everything it's paired with.
With Josh on this one.
