The Buffalo Sabres opened up their 2022-2023 regular season on Thursday night against the Ottawa Senators.

The Sabres played well, in route to a 4-1 win over Ottawa. Two of the four goals were empty netters, both from Victor Olofsson, while the first two goals of the game came from JJ Peterka (his first career NHL goal) and Rasmus Dahlin.

The Sabres had a nearly full house on hand at KeyBank Center and they also had some special guests in the suite area.

Many Buffalo Bills players were on hand to watch the Sabres play.

Josh Allen, Dawson Knox, Matt Barkley and Tommy Sweeney were some of the Bills players at the game.

Allen was wearing a home blue Alex Tuch jersey and what's ironic was Tuch wore a home blue Josh Allen jersey when the Sabres players went to last Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

As the Sabres put it, there's a bromance brewing between Allen and Tuch.

Tuch posted a video from before the game, as he led a rendition of "The Shout Song" outside Highmark Stadium.

The Bills and Sabres have supported one another over the last two or three seasons and you often see Bills players at Sabres games.

Tuch grew up a Sabres fan and I'm guessing the Bills were his favorite NFL team as well, since he's from the Syracuse area.

Many NHL players are Bills fans. There's a large contingency of them from Ontario and near Toronto, which means Buffalo is the nearest city for an NFL team.
