Kid Goes To School…As A Robot!

Lydon Batty suffers from polycystic kidney disease, which weakens his immune system to the extent that he can’t attend school with the other children.

But now a four-foot-tall mobile telepresence system allows the high-school freshman from Knox City, TX., to be right in the classroom with his peers.

This “robot” transmits what is going on in school back to Batty's home. Batty can control the robot’s movements, and directs it from class to class. The robot’s head features an active image of Batty’s face on it, so Batty can interact with the other students just like he’s there.
