According to WKBW, Letchworth State Park says it has closed for incoming new visitors because of “high visitor density.”

The park is trying to keep a safe capacity for COVID-19 protocols.

It’s unclear whether or not this could happen in the future but it’s no secret that Letchworth State Park is usually very busy on the weekends, especially during the fall season when the fall foliage it at its peak.

The park says if you plan on visiting after today, to avoid the hours of 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., which is when the park is usually at its busiest.

That would be pretty unfortunate, if you were traveling an hour or so to Letchworth State Park and then get turned away because of high visitor density.

My fiancée and I always love visiting parks during the fall season, so I can see why so many people want to enjoy the outdoors during this time of year.
