There is some big news from a local store this week that will no longer be selling New York State hunting licenses.

The hunting season is only a few weeks away and across New York State, hunters are getting camps and deer stands ready.But before you head to the woods this fall, you will need a license.

New York State hunting licenses will be going on sale soon and the Dick's Sporting Goods store in Orchard Park will NOT be selling them this year.

A friend sent this photo in to us that shows a sign on the counter at the Dick's Sporting Goods at Quaker Crossing in Orchard Park, New York that announced they will NO LONGER be selling licenses.

Recently, a new law was passed that will also change the back tags here in New York State. According to a report from OutdoorNews.com, a digital back tags will also be accepted. "New York hunters will soon be able to travel afield without a back tag or a physical hunting license, if they choose".

As the summer starts to fade, it has been great to see the bucks start to grow! Checking trail cameras is getting more exciting every week and the cooler mornings are creeping in! It wont be long before we are back in the woods and hunting. If you are used to buying a hunting license at Dick's, you need to plan to go somewhere else like some of the local gun shops such as Sugarbush Armory. or online!
