WNY’s Most Iconic Local Commercial Jingles

When we were growing up, we watched TV every chance we could. Even while our parents were shooing us out the door to "go outside and play!" all we wanted to do was sit inside and watch TV. Because of that, we have a ton of jingles from WNY commercials that we can still sing today word for word.

We still remember every word

It's crazy to think that we can't remember what we were supposed to pick up at the grocery store without having it written down somewhere for us, but we can still remember the words to commercials that we saw back in the 80's. For example, if I gave you this line, "Seeing friends you miss...a great big kiss...everyone loves _____!" Can you fill in the blank?

How about this one. "buffalo's got a spirit _____ _____ _____ ____!" (The answer for this one is below)

Here are some of the most iconic commercial jingles from when we were young

We've had some very iconic jingles over the years. Here are just a few of the ones I remember:

1. Marineland - Everyone loves Marineland!

It's a shame what happened to this place, and the animals that were there. There's no question, this was one of the catchiest jingles of all for kids back in the 80's and 90's.

2. Talkin' Proud

This one is just a little before my time, but I remember my mom still singing it when I was a kid. And this is the answer to the second example I mentioned above.

3. Cellino & Barnes

Long before the phone number became what it is today, the law firm of Cellino & Barnes had a jingle that just stuck.

4. Tops - Tops Never Stops!

We literally sang it through the aisles as our mom shopped and we hung out on the bottom of the cart.

5. Basil - Just Great Deals

You couldn't sing it without doing the (Basil) echo either.

6. Mike Barney Nissan - Lousy Jingle

It says it's a lousy jingle...but we still remember exactly how it sounds.

7. Gary Pools & Leisure - Gary's Got It!

This one changed a bit from the 80's to the 90's but it's still a jingle that we remember well.

8. Airport Plaza Jewelers - We Buy Silver, We Buy Gold

These guys were great at marketing. It was like they were everywhere! And this is another one that was an earworm for us.

9. Wilson Farms - We Got What You Want

Cause we got what you want...and we got it right now.
