Buffalo Needs These 7 Concerts At The New Highmark Stadium
Seeing pictures of the progress on the New Highmark Stadium has us thinking: Who should be some of the first concerts to open the new place?
There seem to have been some huge leaps in the progress at Highmark Stadium. You can see that the hardscaping is being done. There are glass panels around the sides. It's really starting to take shape.
It's hard to think that the people in charge at the new stadium wouldn't want to have a bit of a practice run at hosting huge crowds long before football season is here. What better way to do that than by bringing in a huge concert to not only showcase the stadium, but also to work on some things before game day arrives?
We've had some huge concerts at Highmark Stadium already
The old Highmark Stadium has hosted some huge shows in its day. We've been blessed to see acts as big as The Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, and Elton John. Years ago, Beyonce, U2, and Guns N' Roses all played there. George Strait brought a huge lineup for his "George Strait Music Festival" that included names like Mark Chesnutt, Tim McGraw, and Kenny Chesney (although he'd like to forget the now-famous horse incident that happened there).
In the last couple of years, we've had people like Garth Brooks, Luke Combs, and George Strait come back.
So who should be the first to play in the new stadium?
The question is, who will be the first band to break in the new stadium? Stadium shows are all the rage these days. Kenny Chesney is known to fill stadiums with his shows. Beyoncé is still the queen bee. Will she come back?
I was going to add Taylor Swift to this list, but I have a hard time believing that a Kansas City Chief's girlfriend would be a good fit for one of the first shows there. It just felt wrong.
Who do you think would be a good fit for one of the first shows at the New Highmark Stadium?
