It was a violent night in Rochester, New York as a shooting has left at least one police officer dead.

The details were still coming in early Friday about exactly what happened in the Rochester area that leads to the shooting.

The two police officers were shot by ambush around 9:15. According to reports, the two were approached by a man who started to shoot at them. The suspect is still on the loose.

This comes on the same night as a candidate for Governor was attacked at an appearance in Fairport, New York. Lee Zledin was able to stop the 43 year old man and thanked anyone who has reached out.

The summer of 2022 has seen it's share of violence across the nation and here in New York State. It has been just over 2 months since the shooting at a Buffalo supermarket. The Tops store on Jefferson Avenue in East Buffalo has just reopened after the massacre that killed ten and injured others.
