It is about to get very warm in portions of Western and Central New York as the forecast is calling for highs near 90 degrees!

The summer is starting to creep in and the hot weather is already making some feel uncomfortable. But will it last and what are the plans to keep cool this week?

The youth baseball and softball leagues are in full swing and if you have kids who are playing this week, we understand the struggle you might be facing.

According to the National Weather Service office in Buffalo, New York, the mid summer heat is here!

"most locations will have the hottest day of the summer thus far, with inland temperatures well into the 80s and a few 90s".

This is a good reminder to make sure that your little league player has plenty of water and is ready for the sun with sunscreen and a hat!

As a father with kids in little league and in T-ball I completely understand that kids also will need a little more motivation when it gets hot. "It's too hot", is something that we will all be hearing from at least one kid this week. But there is good news as the forecast also calls for some rain later in the week and cooler temps back in the forecast!
