Buffalo has been a massive supporter of Toby Keith and his music since day one! For years, Toby Keith toured and made his way to Western New York. Who could forget the year he headlined the Fourth of July weekend celebration at The Jam in the Valley in Varysburg, New York?

One of the toughest bits of news I have ever had to share on air was the morning we found out Toby Keith had lost his battle with cancer. Toby Keith was always larger than life, not only on stage, but off the stage as well. He was a good friend of WYRK and of country music fans all across Western New York.

Fast-forward a couple of years, and the family is still carrying on Toby’s incredible career and legacy in country music. It was just announced that a demo song Toby Keith had recorded was found and released to the public. The song “End of the Night” is pretty incredible and Ernest recently covered it, but now the family has released Toby Keith's original demo, and it’s every bit as good as you’d expect.

It was truly sad when Toby Keith passed away. However, we have some incredible memories of his performances here in Buffalo and some great music that will continue to live on through his family and treasures like this recently release demo song. I'll never forget speaking with Toby Keith at a random party in Las Vegas. He was just as genuine a guy as you could ever want to meet!
