People From Western New York Describe The Perfect Turkey In Two Words
Halloween is just one day away and already people are starting to think about Thanksgiving. More specifically, they're thinking of the perfect meal. It's the turkey, the mashed potatoes, the stuffing, the gravy, and everything that goes along with it. Whether that means family, friends, or football.
When you think "perfect turkey," what do you think? If you had to break it down to just two words, what words would you use?
Describe the perfect turkey in just two words
I asked people to describe the perfect turkey using just two words on social media and was surprised at not only how many responses I got, but by how different they all were. Most people think about how it should taste. Some use words like "juicy" or the massively hated word "moist." Maybe it's the type of meat you like, like dark meat or breast meat.
Then there are the people who think of how it should be prepared. They use words like smoked, brine, and baste.
And of course, some people went that extra step to describe it using words you might not think of right away, like "make reservations" or "beer & shots."
The worst thing you could do to a turkey
If you're the one preparing the turkey this year, first of all, you are a brave and very generous soul. People should be grateful that you're doing that for them. It's certainly not cheap to buy a turkey to feed anyone, much less the whole family on Thanksgiving.
It's not easy either. Getting turkey perfectly cooked is a skill. You can't overcook it. No one described their perfect turkey using the word "dry." But you can't undercook it either. There's no such thing as a "rare" turkey. It's either cooked or it isn't.
So good luck this year. Now is the time to start brushing up on those skills. We are less than a month away!
