Buffalo Sabres Player Announces Engagement
The Buffalo Sabres are back on the ice tomorrow night at KeyBank Center, against the Minnesota Wild, which kicks off a four-game homestand after a long road trip.
The Sabres currently sit six points out of the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, but they have a whopping four games in hand on the team that holds that spot, the New York Islanders. They also have five games in hand on the Washington Capitals, who are 10 points ahead in the top wild card spot.
The Sabres control their own destiny for the NHL postseason and their young core is the reason they have a chance to end their 11-year playoff drought.
The Sabres are making news off the ice as well, as one of their young forward had a huge personal announcement this week.
Forward Peyton Krebs announced his engagement to his girlfriend, Erica!
Krebs was acquired from the Vegas Golden Knights, as part of the Jack Eichel trade back in November of 2021. He's scored three goals in 30 games this season, but still figures to be a big part of Buffalo's plans moving forward.
Krebs is only 21 years old and while it's not the same comparison just based on player type, Tage Thompson is proof you have to patient with some of your younger talent. Thompson didn't become a superstar until he was 24-25 years old.
The Sabres have probably their most likable team since the Sabres made the playoffs, back when the likes of Ryan Miller, Jason Pominville and Thomas Vanek were on the team.
