The future of fried chicken arrives on Monday at KFC!

In an effort to keep up with other chain restaurants around the United States, KFC is expanding their menu in California after some test were conducted in other cities around the country.

Many of the major chains are adjusting their menus to reflect a more environmentally and animal friendly selection. It was just this week that Burger King released a commercial that tells customers they are going to be feeding their cows food that will help to eliminate their farts! Some believe that beef cows and their farts have a negative impact on the atmosphere.

As for KFC? The fast food chain tested its 'Beyond Fried Chicken' in Atlanta, Nashville and Charlotte and it was a hit.  So now it's headed to menus in California.  The new item goes on sale Monday at 50 locations.

I understand that you don't notice much of a taste difference in the plant based versus the original taste of pure beef or chicken. I am all for change and support efforts to keep the air we breath clean. However, I stand behind the farmers of America who work hard to raise quality beef, chicken and pork and I hope that menus keep delivering options rather than forcing us all to eat a certain way.

As a matter of fact, if you would like to purchase some quality, LOCAL, products this summer for your freezer, the Western New York 4H kids are going to be selling their animals virtually this summer via online auctions.
