County Official Makes A Bet On The Bandits
The Bandits are back, baby!
It’s been way too long since KeyBank Center has been packed with orange and black, and unfortunately, BanditLand is going to have to wait to head to downtown Buffalo a little bit longer.
Even though the Buffalo Bandits are kicking off the 2024-2025 season on the road this weekend, the good news is fans don’t have to travel too far to catch their favorite team in action.
Buffalo Bandits Season Opener This Weekend
This Saturday, the defending world champs will infiltrate Blue Cross Arena in nearby Rochester. Afterwards, they’ll head to Ottawa to take on the Black Bears on December 13th, before finally heading back to Buffalo for another showdown with their nearby Knighthawks rivals on December 28th.
Hundreds of members of BanditLand are excited to make the hour-ish trek down the thruway from Western New York to see the boys in Rochester, and they’re not the only ones pumped to see the Bandits in action this weekend.
Erie County Executive Makes A Friendly Bet With Rochester
Recently re-elected Erie County exec Mark Poloncarz gave his colleague, Monroe County Executive Adam Bello, a gentle ribbing on social media in anticipation of this Saturday’s Bandits/Knighthawks matchup.
In a friendly wager between the two officials, Poloncarz bet Bello a plate of Buffalo’s famous wings that the Bandits would pull out the win. As a rebuttal, Bello bet one of Rochester’s own popular delicacies, the infamous garbage plate, that the Knighthawks would be victorious in this weekend’s NLL battle.
“I’ll take our chicken wings over a garbage plate anyday, but if the Bandits do come out on top, I’m looking forward to it.”
You can watch the video of Poloncarz’s challenge below. We hope Adam Bello likes his wings extra hot!
