As we work out way into the spring, people are wishing and hoping for more events, fairs, and festivals to happen this summer after the horrendous year we had last year, where seemingly everything was canceled.

Even though events such as Taste of Buffalo are still on, there are some events that are getting canceled, and another was canceled in West Seneca.

WIVB is reporting that the West Seneca Community Days festival and events have been canceled. The reason for the cancellation is the uncertainty of state guidelines.

“With the uncertainty of the NYS and CDC guidelines that would be in place when the event is scheduled, the committee felt that this was the best decision to make, says the West Seneca Civic and Patriotic Commission.  In addition, the event is run by volunteers and it might be difficult to find people who would be willing to enforce mask and distancing regulations."

If you're unfamiliar with the events, it usually takes place in the heart of West Seneca and features live music, carnival rides, fair food, a huge beer tent, and other fun activities for all ages.

I love West Seneca Community Days but I can see why they made this decision. This event is usually wall-to-wall people and without clear guidance from the state, this kind of event getting canceled again is no surprise.

Here's to hoping it's back in full force for 2022 and we can finally have a year where nothing is canceled.
