A rabies positive bat was found in a house in East Aurora last week. While that might not be shocking in itself, it should cause some concern for pet owners in the area.

Aurora Pet Hospital posted about the finding and encouraged residents in the area who own pets to make sure they are up to date on their rabies vaccinations. They even noted that indoor only cats need to be up to date on their shots as well.

If you live in the area or outlying area and your pets are not up to date this is something you should probably contact your vet about. It also serves as a great reminder to pet owners everywhere how important your animal's health is and to make sure your are up top sate and making yearly visits to the vet.
