Many of us woke up this morning thinking it was December 21st not April 21st with all the snow that came across Western New York.

In fact, we have seen so much snow so far today that a new record for snowfall was recorded early this morning.

The old record of 1.3 inches was set back in 1934 and according to WKBW's Aaron Mentkowski, we broke that record early this morning around 6 am.

**UPDATE** As of 2:45 pm The Buffalo airport got 4.8 inches of snow today!

The National Weather Service in Buffalo is calling for another 1-3 inches of snow for the rest of the day today.

All of Western New York is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 2 pm today.

The good news is that the snow is a one-day event. We will see the snow taper off today and change into rain tomorrow.

We will also see a bit of a warmup as we head into the weekend. Friday you can expect sunny skies with a high near 56 and then partly cloudy with a chance of afternoon rain on Saturday with a high in the low 60s.

For Sunday, morning rain gives away to the afternoon sun with a high in the mid-50s.

Check out some snow pics I took on my morning walk today.
