Hunting season is here across New York State! Just a few days into the early season, things are already off to a great start, with some hunters finding success and taking down some pretty impressive bucks.

If you haven’t been out yet, don’t worry. There is still plenty of time, as hunting season continues for the next couple of months!

Country music star Riley Green recently posted a photo of a massive bull elk that he took with his bow and arrow.

Riley has also been featured on The Voice this season and toured across the United States this summer, including a stop at Darien Lake in New York.

I had the opportunity to speak with Riley about hunting, which is one of his biggest passions. In fact, he has been purchasing land around his home state of Alabama, trying to increase the amount of acreage he owns.

Country Music Stars and Hunting

On this particular hunt, Riley appeared to have some incredible success out West in Utah. Elk hunting has become a popular passion among country music stars, with other artists also sharing their hunting adventures and success on social media.

Luke Combs, for example, has recently posted about his own hunting success.

For many country music fans, seeing their favorite artists enjoying the outdoors and hunting is another way to connect with them beyond their music.

New York Whitetail Season Continues

Meanwhile, the New York State whitetail deer season continues, and there is already some controversy surrounding hunting in at least one park.

No matter where you hunt in New York State, remember to stay safe and enjoy the season. There has been plenty of discussion surrounding hunting and what the future of the sport looks like for the next generation.

Safety should always come first. Hunters should know and follow New York’s hunting regulations, respect the land and other hunters, and understand that conservation is the key to maintaining hunting opportunities for generations to come.

Whether you’re sitting in a tree stand waiting for a New York buck or watching a country music star chase a giant elk out West, this is an exciting time of year for hunters.
