The 7 Scariest Real Haunted Places Near Buffalo, NY
Spooky season is here! While many people will be looking for haunted houses and attractions near Buffalo, others are looking for places that are known for really being haunted. If that's you, we've got a list of places to keep your weekends packed leading up to Halloween this year.
Fake scares are fun, but these are real haunted houses
We've all seen the man-made haunted houses around this time of year. They can definitely get your heart pumping if you're up for it. But if strobe lights, latex masks, and jump scares aren't your thing, there are a number of real haunted houses near Buffalo, NY, like Rolling Hills Asylum, that are said to still be inhabited by real ghosts. Some of them are harmless souls who like to make their presence known in mischievous ways, like in the case of the Radisson Hotel in Niagara Falls. Others could be close to the actual devil himself.

These ghosts have incredible back stories
The best part of these ghosts is their back stories. A site named FrightFind has sought out to find the most haunted places in the country and has named some in each state. In addition to haunted houses that are created by people as a production with scare actors, they found several houses that some people claim are haunted by actual ghosts. There are stories of a bride and groom who still haunt a hotel room in Niagara Falls after something horrific happened on their wedding night. There's a little girl who hasn't caused any trouble with guests, yet, but still comes around to touch their feet. And of course, there are still some tortured souls who lived their last days in an asylum.

Why do we love these places?
It feels like we shouldn't want anything to do with these places, but somehow thousands of people show up to them every year. I think it's the fascination with the unknown. We don't know what's on the other side. It's not every day that you run into an actual ghost, and some people will pay for the opportunity.
I'm not one of those people. I'm the kind of person who will wait until I'm dead to find out what it's all about.
