Massive Winter Storm For New York State With Big Snow Totals
The month of February will start off with what January gave us plenty of -- snow.
Winter Storm Landon is on the way for the entirety of New York State, and that means that residents once again have to deal with poor travel conditions and snow removal. Many are still cleaning up from the previous snowstorm that swept across the region just two weeks ago.
Winter Storm Landon will arrive to the state by Wednesday afternoon/evening and give many in the state a mix of rain and sleet, but also, heavy snowfall for those who are in Western New York, and up near Lake Ontario.
The hardest hit regions will be off Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Snow totals should be less for those closer to the Pennsylvania state line.
Much of the state is under a Winter Storm Watch from Wednesday night, through mid-afternoon on Friday.
The National Weather Service says that travel could be hazardous at times during the storm, and that Thursday will be the worst day; especially the afternoon and evening for those in Western and Central New York.
Some areas could see over a foot of snow. Here are expected snow totals, courtesy of the National Weather Service.
