The Buffalo Bills are one day away from their annual blue vs. red scrimmage at Highmark Stadium, which will be held on Friday at 5:30 pm. Gates open at 4 pm.

The Bills will only play one home preseason game in 2023 — next Saturday afternoon against the Indianapolis Colts.

We don’t yet know how much, if at all, the starters will play.

Head coach Sean McDermott was very cautious a year ago and Josh Allen barely played in 2022. We may see that philosophy again this month.

Bills starting right tackle Spencer Brown has a lot of pressure on him this year, after a rocky 2022. He’s been under fire from some fans for inconsistent play.

On Thursday, Brown was injured in practice.

According to Joe Marino of Locked On Bills podcast, Brown was seen walking off the practice field in obvious stiffness pain, in regards to his back. He reportedly had trouble bending over to get his helmet.

There's no word on how serious, if at all, this injury may be.

Brown has been hit by the injury bug in the first two years of his NFL career, particularly his back, which has caused him to miss multiple games.

If Brown has to miss any time, veterans David Quessenberry and Brandon Shell look to be the ones who would step in. Quessenberry might get the nod, considering his familiarity in the offense; having played with the Bills last season.

Let’s hope that Brown is okay.
